How I Deal With Stress

If there is one thing I have never dealt well with in my life, it is stress. I have had many breakdowns throughout high school and college, and I don't  think it's going to ever be something I cope well with but I have definitely come up with a few tips and tricks along the way that I thought I would share with you guys!
  • Do my homework ahead of time:
    • This is a preventative step, but it is by far the most important one. I am someone who always leaves all of my homework for Sunday night, and then never have time to do it all AND get a decent amount of sleep (which college student does anyways?). I highly recommend doing your homework asap when you get it, or at least not leaving it all for the same day. There is no better feeling than remembering you have homework and realizing you already did it (also a great moment to high five yourself).
  • Make a list:
    • When I’m stressed it often because I feel like I have too much to do and not enough time. One way I can calm myself is making a list of everything I have to do, this not only organizes everything I need to do but it also makes it more visual. Also, a lot of time I realize I have a lot less stuff than I thought I had to do, and there is nothing more satisfying than crossing something off your list. (extra tip: Organize your list in order of priority, this gives you a better sense of what you have to do first and what can wait)
  • Hang out with friends:
    • Sometimes life in general is just stressful. Whether the guy you’re into isn't texting you back, your parents are cracking down on you for stuff you’re already down on yourself for, school is being hard, or any of the other million reasons people can be stressed for, one of my favorite solutions is hanging out with my best friend. For me, my best friend is someone I can always depend on to make me laugh, forget my problems, and just be overall happy. We have definitely helped each other get through hard times, we've laughed together and we've cried together, I know she’s someone who will always understand what I’m going through and will always be there for me.
  • Have some 'Me' time:
    • 'Me' time is my favorite time of the day! I think of ‘Me’ time as being time put away just for yourself, to do your own thing. Some of my personal ‘Me’ time activities are dancing/singing to very loud music (I’m talking seriously loud), doing my makeup, pampering myself (going all out in the shower, face masks, using my fanciest moisturizers, doing my nails, etc.) There are honestly endless possibilities for ‘Me’ time activities, you just have to find what works for you!
There are a few tips for you guys for dealing/preventing stress! It’s really all about finding what works best for you as everyone is different, but I hope this post gave you a few new ideas! Let me know in the comments some ways you deal with stress, because I’m always looking for new things to try!
